Connecting Windows XP to eduroam with an external supplicant
Please note that full administrator rights to your computer are required.
Preparation
Before using eduroam you need to install SecureW2 client
Click on the link below to download the SecureW2 software. Run the installer and follow the prompts.

Setting up the connection

Right click on [Wireless Network connection] and click [Properties]

Click on Wireless Networks tab

Click [Add ].

Add eduroam as the SSID
Network Authentication: WPA2
Data encryption: AES
Click the 'Authentication' tab

- Set EAP type to 'SecureW2'
- Click [ Properties ]

- Enter eduroam as the Profile ID
- Click [ OK ]

- Ensure Use alternate outer identity is not ticked
- Click Certificates tab.

- Ensure Verify server certificates is not ticked
- Click the Authentication tab.

- Select Authentication Method: PAP
- Click the User account tab.

- Ensure Prompt user for credentials is not ticked
- Enter your <A HREF="mailto:username@uq.edu.au">username@</A>realm.or.ke (realm=your domain)
- Enter your password
- Ensure 'Use this account to logon computer' is not ticked
- Click [ OK ]

- Continue clicking [ OK ] until you are back at Network Connections
Connecting to eduroam
Right click on 'Wireless Network Connection' and click on 'View Available Wireless Networks'.

- Click [ Connect ]
